Kummer Surfaces and K3 Surfaces with (z/2z) Symplectic Action

چکیده
In the first part of this paper we give a survey of classical results on Kummer surfaces with Picard number 17 from the point of view of lattice theory. We prove ampleness properties for certain divisors on Kummer surfaces and we use them to describe projective models of Kummer surfaces of (1, d)polarized Abelian surfaces for d = 1, 2, 3. As a consequence we prove that in these cases the Néron–Severi group can be generated by lines. In the second part of the paper we use Kummer surfaces to obtain results on K3 surfaces with a symplectic action of the group (Z/2Z). In particular we describe the possible Néron–Severi groups of the latter in the case that the Picard number is 16, which is the minimal possible. We describe also the Néron–Severi groups of the minimal resolution of the quotient surfaces which have 15 nodes. We extend certain classical results on Kummer surfaces to

Symplectic Automorphisms on Kummer Surfaces
Nikulin proved that the isometries induced on the second cohomology group of a K3 surface X by a finite abelian group G of symplectic automorphisms are essentially unique. Moreover he computed the discriminant of the sublattice of H(X,Z) which is fixed by the isometries induced by G. However for certain groups these discriminants are not the same of those found for explicit examples. Here we de...
متن کاملSymplectic Automorphisms and the Picard Group of a K3 Surface
Let X be a K3 surface, and let G be a finite group acting on X by automorphisms. The action of G on X induces an action on the cohomology of X . We assume G acts symplectically: that is, G acts as the identity on H(X). In this case, the minimum resolution Y of the quotient X/G is itself a K3 surface. Nikulin classified the finite abelian groups which act symplectically on K3 surfaces by analyzi...
متن کاملOn the Finite Dimensionality of a K3 Surface
For a smooth projective surface X the finite dimensionality of the Chow motive h(X), as conjectured by S.I Kimura, has several geometric consequences. For a complex surface of general type with pg = 0 it is equivalent to Bloch’s conjecture. The conjecture is still open for a K3 surface X which is not a Kummer surface. In this paper we give some evidence to Kimura’s conjecture for a K3 surface :...
متن کاملNikulin Involutions on K3 Surfaces
We study the maps induced on cohomology by a Nikulin (i.e. a symplectic) involution on a K3 surface. We parametrize the eleven dimensional irreducible components of the moduli space of algebraic K3 surfaces with a Nikulin involution and we give examples of the general K3 surface in various components. We conclude with some remarks on MorrisonNikulin involutions, these are Nikulin involutions wh...
متن کاملSimple Surface Singularities, their Resolutions, and Construction of K3 Surfaces
This paper describes, in detail, a process for constructing Kummer K3 surfaces, and other “generalized” Kummer K3 surfaces. In particular, we look at how some well-known geometrical objects such as the platonic solids and regular polygons can inspire the creation of singular surfaces, and we investigate the resolution of those surfaces. Furthermore, we will extend this methodology to examine th...
